Basketry Taster for Beginners
Fabulous class!
I’ve always wanted to learn basket making and finally got to do it! This was such a fun morning. Ann is a very patient teacher who has the knack of getting you out of a mess without making you feel a twit! The little basket was just the right size for getting to grips with the techniques and I’m so pleased with it. A highly recommended class 😊

Basketry Taster for Beginners Workshop
Baskets have been made since the dawn of time, but it’s sadly a dying art in a lot of the world since plastics etc arrived. Revive a wonderful, useful art form by learning how to make your own amazing baskets.
In this 3-hour taster workshop you’ll make one of these neat and sweet little 4 inch / 10cm baskets, which will teach you some of the skills you’ll need to make bigger and more complex ones (coming in future workshops! 😁) This one has been turned into a large pincushion, but you can use them for anything you like. They are lovely to use as gift containers too – two gifts in one 😊
It’s a fun, inexpensive, addictive and hugely satisfying craft. You can even use free materials from your garden or the countryside.

- shaping the sides
- adding decorative features
- making a sturdy rim
- adding new canes
- how to make your basket stand properly without wobbling
