Leaded Stained Glass Workshop

Traditional stained glass is held together by lead channels (called ‘came’) and these are soldered to each other to make a solid panel, which is then sealed with special black putty. That’s what this class will teach you how to do.

This is quite different to the copper foiled technique and will make robust pieces for your home or to put in the garden.

Using traditional materials and methods, you can make a pretty heart suncatcher in colours of your choice, while you learn the basics of leaded work.

The glass pieces will be pre-cut for you so you can concentrate on the assembly.

This 2.5 -hour workshop will teach you how to:

  • handle, cut and secure real lead came sections and edging
  • flux and solder joints
  • apply a hanging ring
  • Apply stained glass putty to make the piece secure
  • patinate and polish the lead

~ all while you’re making a lovely heart suncatcher to take home.

The fee for this workshop covers ~

  • all materials and use of tools
  • all tuition
  • refreshments

All-inclusive ~ £35.00
